After an All-ACC career at Clemson University, Buckner was the 50th overall pick in the 1994 NFL Draft, and went to the Pittsburgh Steelers to open his professional career. By the 1995 season, Buckner was a regular starter for the Steelers, and was an integral part of the defense that led them to Super Bowl XXX against the Dallas Cowboys. Buckner played one more year with the Steelers before being traded and picked up by the Cincinnati Bengals, after which he played in San Francisco before joining the Carolina Panthers prior to the 2001 NFL season. Buckner, who played a total of 12 seasons in the NFL, ended his career as a Panther in 2006. Upon leaving the league, this member of the South Georgia Sports Hall of Fame began a career in analysis, commentating for the NFL Network and ESPN, as well as on Clemson gameday programs, as well as in coaching, working with the defense at Charlotte Victory Christian High School.
In the summer of 2007, Buckner opened his own highly successful camp for aspiring professional football players.
Buckner brings his firsthand experience as an athlete, coach, and camp organizer to bear in Champ ChampsTM sales outreach, as well as a considerable network of connections in the field of athletics built over the course of his career in football. Additionally, Buckner will be a key player in the development of Companys nonprofit foundation.
